What is a smash burger?
A smash burger is made by pressing a ball of fresh beef onto a screaming-hot griddle, creating a thin patty with crispy, caramelised edges and a juicy middle. The technique maximises browning and flavour.
What makes FT Smash different?
Fresh (never frozen) beef smashed to order, 100% halal and HMC certified, and made fresh the moment you order. It's smash burgers done properly in Bolton.
Do you use frozen beef?
No. We only ever use fresh beef — never frozen — for the best flavour, texture and that signature smash crust.
Are your burgers cooked fresh to order?
Yes. Every burger is smashed and cooked fresh the moment you place your order.
Why do smash burgers have crispy edges?
The beef is pressed onto a very hot surface, creating intense browning (the Maillard reaction) that produces the signature crispy, flavourful crust.
Halal & Certification
Is FT Smash halal?
Yes — 100%. Every ingredient, every supplier and every product we serve is fully halal. There are no non-halal items anywhere on our menu.
Are you HMC certified?
Yes. We're certified by the Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC), one of the UK's most rigorous halal authorities. Unlike self-certified halal, HMC carries out unannounced on-site inspections and verifies every step of the supply chain.
Is the meat hand-slaughtered?
Yes. HMC only certifies hand-slaughtered meat. All beef and chicken we use meets this standard — no stunned or mechanically slaughtered meat.
Why HMC and not another certifier?
HMC is widely regarded as the gold standard for halal in the UK. Their monitored, inspected certification gives our customers real confidence — not just a label.

Can I customise my order?
Absolutely. You can add or remove toppings, choose extras, pick your sauces, and make most items a meal — all when you order online.
Can I make my burger a meal?
Yes. Add fries and a drink to turn most mains into a meal, or upgrade to loaded fries.
What sides do you do?

Where can I find allergen information?
Allergen information is shown on each item on our online menu. Our food is prepared in a shared kitchen, so if you have a serious allergy please let us know before ordering.
Ordering, Delivery & Collection
How do I place an order?
Order online at ftsmash.co.uk for collection or delivery from our Bolton takeaway — choose your items, customise them, and check out. Ordering direct means no delivery-app fees.
Do you deliver in Bolton?
Yes — we deliver across Bolton where available, and you can always collect from the takeaway on Halliwell Road. Delivery options and fees are shown at checkout based on your postcode.

We're open Monday to Sunday, 4pm–11pm. Hours can occasionally change, so check the website for the latest.
